What’s new with Coach Pri?
👋 Hey there,
Coach Pri here :-) Hello fall! Hope you are enjoying the cool, crisp mornings, and warm beverages 😃
I missed you all last week…
So here we are, with a few new updates!
1. Free Guest AMA session on building AI/ML Products - this Friday Sept 20th:
This is your chance to ask questions and learn more about building AI/ML products at scale, interview tips for an AI/ML product role, career growth & more. The best part - our guest this time is a prior client who currently works as a Principal PM and has been eager to give back - to share her knowledge and journey with this PM community! I’m so excited to have Priyanka (yes, we share the same name 😉 ) join us for a guest AMA (ask-me-anything) session from 12- 1 pm PST.
Spots are limited, so don’t wait.
👉️ Register here.
I will be moderating the session, so submit your questions in advance (you will receive the link to submit questions once you register)!
2. We are in week 3 of the PM Level-Up group cohort, and…
Our topic of the week is…Product Planning & Prioritization!
💙 What I’m loving: It has been a fulfilling journey so far to see clients already get more confident in their value prop to employers, practice their pitch, start their career success story writing & interview prep, as well as learning how to stand out in this competitive job market!

PM Career/Interview Tips of the Week
Here are some tips I share with clients on Product Planning & Prioritization 🤫
Remember that prioritization is often a hidden interview expectation - even if you don’t explicitly get asked about it, make sure you demonstrate this skill throughout the interview. For example - prioritize which problem to focus on out of the user problems you listed in your case study (and explain why), or prioritize which product strategy to implement, or show how you decided what to build now or next (roadmap = now, next, later!)
The framework or approach you use doesn’t matter - as long as you can explain it well, and structure your answer in a way that makes sense! Personally, I’m not a fan of RICE (reach, impact, confidence, effort), and find the impact/effort matrix, or the Kano Model more helpful for interviews!
Talk about data-informed decision making (and share success stories in your interview about how you included both qualitative & quantitative data!)
Don’t forget to talk about trade-offs: What trade-offs do you consider, how you balance them, and when in doubt - how do you decide how to move forward? Trade-off examples - quality vs speed, simple UX vs feature rich etc.
And my most important tip - consider the company you are applying to, their culture and way of working - e.g. Meta has a fail fast culture, so speed may generally be more important for a PM there than quality. But with Microsoft, that is not the case.

Whenever you’re ready, here are 2 ways I can help fast-track your PM career:
1.Consider joining my PM Level-Up Group Coaching Program (current cohort is in session, and ends Oct 22nd!).
💥 What clients “learned & loved” the past 2 weeks (career strategy, resume, success stories and Product Strategy interview prep!):
“I learned how critical it is to have a clear career strategy, and I love that we have others in this group working on similar goals!” - Sr PM, SF Bay Area
“I love that you start off the first group session with agreements we can all honor. Commitment happens with taking our career growth/job search seriously, so I appreciate that. All your help so far in my job search (in addition to group sessions) has reassured me that you have my back!” - Sr PM, Fintech, SF Bay Area
“I learned that I must practice mock interviews early on and not at the last minute. And that I must find a balance between waiting to be 100% prepared for my dream role vs giving it my best shot. Loved the emphasis on focused effort in the right direction, without worrying too much about the results!” - Telecom/B2B PM, Atlanta, GA

2. If you haven’t yet - consider taking this comprehensive 20-question PM Skills Quiz that I created to test your PM skill level, your superpowers & skill gaps 😁 (takes just 10 minutes!)
Inform your interview prep based on the clarity of knowing which parts of the Product Development Lifecycle you are strong at, and where you need to improve!
Once you get your results, book a free 15-min call to get your free career & job search strategy, so you can get to your next PM role faster!
Until next time,
