What’s new from Coach Pri?

👋 Hey there,

It's been a little over two months since my last newsletter. I hope you've been doing well!

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind—in the best possible way. I've been coaching clients, building new AI tools and PM frameworks, and spending a few weeks in India, including an unforgettable trip to Ladakh, which is simply breathtaking!

Before the break, I also joined negotiation experts Gerta Malaj and Alex Choi on their podcast to talk about negotiation and influencing without authority. Even if you’re not interviewing and not at the offer stage yet, you will find this insightful. If you missed it, you can watch it here.

While some of us took a break, and world is struggling with summer heat, AI world clearly didn't take a summer vacation 😉

Every week seems to bring another model, coding agent, browser agent, or protocol. But after spending the last couple of months building AI tools myself, I've realized the interesting question is no longer, "Which model is the smartest?"

It's, "How do you design AI systems that orchestrate models, agents, memory, tools, and integrations to reliably solve customer problems?"

And perhaps the biggest implication for Product Managers is this: everyone is shipping faster. The harder question is no longer, "Can we build it?" but "Should we build it—and will it create meaningful value for customers and the business?"

That's the lens I've been using over the past couple of months while coaching clients, building AI career tools, and experimenting with different AI workflows. It has led to a few interesting observations—one of which I'd like to share with you in this month's newsletter.

P.S. If this newsletter is helpful, please move it out of Promotions and into your primary inbox so you don’t miss future issues. I appreciate you. 💙

PM Insight of the week

One of the hardest parts of building AI products today isn't learning the latest model or tool. It's making good product decisions when there isn't a proven playbook.

The pace of AI is moving so quickly that Product Managers and Product Leaders are constantly navigating ambiguity. And while every decision is different, I've found myself coming back to five questions before investing significant time and energy into a decision:

1. Is this decision reversible?
If it's easy to change later, don't overanalyze it. Move quickly and learn.

2. What's the cost of being wrong?
Some mistakes are inexpensive experiments. Others have lasting customer or business impact.

3. Does this change strategy or just execution?
Execution decisions can often be delegated or iterated. Strategic decisions deserve more rigor.

4. How much uncertainty are we dealing with?
The more unknowns, the more important it is to validate assumptions before committing.

5. Who else will this decision affect?
The broader the customer, technical, or organizational impact, the more alignment and thoughtful discussion it deserves.

If you answered yes to 3 or more questions above, then that decision needs to be intentional, and needs your time and attention.

The best Product Leaders aren't the ones who analyze everything. They're the ones who know which decisions deserve deeper thinking—and which ones do not.

🫶 PM Level-Up Cohort #8:

My final PM Level-Up cohort of the year starts August 23rd.

Over 8 weeks, we'll focus on strengthening your product judgment, leadership presence, AI PM capabilities, and interview skills through a combination of live group coaching, 1:1 sessions, peer practice, and my proven frameworks—refined over 7 cohorts and 50+ Product Managers & Product Leaders.

If you're aiming for a promotion, a bigger role, or simply want to become a more strategic Product Leader, I'd love to help.

Not ready to work with me yet ? I got you covered!

If you want a clearer view of your current strengths and growth areas, I’ve created a PM Skill Level Assessment Test (aka, an in-depth quiz 😉 ) used by experienced product leaders to assess where they are. This gives you not just an overall score, but a score for your discovery, design, execution, GTM and other areas, so you uncover your strengths and gaps.

Looking Ahead

Every week, I'm seeing the same pattern.

AI is making execution faster, but it's also raising the bar for Product Managers.

The PMs who stand out aren't the ones who know every new model or tool. They're the ones who consistently make good decisions, communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and connect technology back to customer and business outcomes.

That's exactly what I've been building into my next PM Level-Up cohort, which begins August 23rd. Over the next few newsletters, I'll be sharing more about what we're covering and why these skills matter more than ever.

If becoming a stronger Product Leader is one of your goals this year, keep an eye on this space. 😊
